A Joyful Celebration of Community, Food & Growing Together
Join us for a warm Neighbour Day celebration and the official launch of Growing Seasons — a new community-led project focused on growing food, extending Calgary's growing season, and building connection through shared learning.
This gathering brings together residents of Bishop's Manor, neighbours, and people working in Calgary's food system to celebrate community, culture, and the power of growing together.
What is Growing Seasons?
Growing Seasons is a community-driven initiative that supports residents in growing food in Calgary's short growing season through cold frames, season-extension techniques, and shared knowledge.
What began with vacant raised beds and a few residents eager to grow their own food — but facing the barriers of Calgary's short growing season, limited resources, and the isolation that can come with affordable housing — has grown into something much larger.
Rooted in food sovereignty and neighbour-to-neighbour learning, the project centres resident leadership, cultural food knowledge, and dignified access to fresh food. Neighbour Day marks the beginning of this journey at Bishop's Manor, and we are excited to celebrate together.
